Ericha Shuster is an Oak Tree Corner volunteer at our Oakwood location. She co-facilitates the "Littles" group, which consists of children aged three to six.

Oak Tree Corner held the annual picnic this past Sunday, July 10th, at Waldruhe Park. It was a hot day, but everyone took advantage of the shade the shelter provided.

There were also water balloons, water cannons, and lots of buckets of water for the kids to play with and beat the heat

Oak Tree Corner picnic - Sunday, July 10th!

Oak Tree Corner's annual summer picnic is coming up on Sunday, July 10th, from 1 PM - 3 PM at Waldruhe Park. There will be lots of food, as well as some water balloons and other fun water activities for the kids!

Oak Tree Corner Silver Lining Celebration

Oak Tree Corner held its annual Silver Lining Celebration this past May, raising over $10,000 for program expenses and volunteer training.

The silent auction consisted of prizes like tickets to a Dayton Dragons game, teeth whitening, and a private plane ride.

Beth Redavide of Coldwell Banker Heritage Realtors won the big 50/50 raffle. Like winners before her, she donated a generous portion of the $1980 prize back to Oak Tree Corner. Congratulations and thank you to Beth Redavide!

Oak Tree Corner Celebrates Another Great Year with Annual Balloon Launch

Last week, Oak Tree Corner groups met for the last time before the short summer break. As is tradition, each group participated in a balloon launch. The balloon launch is always held during the last meeting of the year and it's a special time for both children and volunteers, as well as the family members who attend Oak Tree Corner.

Volunteers, children, and their families gathered at our Beavercreek, Oakwood, and Springboro locations to participate.




After the regular pizza dinner, we broke into our usual groups for shortened sessions. Each child and volunteer wrote notes or drew pictures for their loved ones who had died.

Once everyone was finished writing their notes, we gathered in one room to tie our notes to the balloon of our choice. There were a lot of options!

Everyone stood together, each thinking of the loved ones in their lives who had died and brought them to Oak Tree Corner. We all let go of our balloons and silently watched them float away, higher and higher, until we could no longer see them.

Oak Tree Corner Welcomes Oakwood High School Seniors!

Last week, Oak Tree Corner was happy to welcome a group of Oakwood High School seniors. This enthusiastic group worked hard over the course of three days, completing such tasks as painting the Littles room, logging raffle tickets from this year's Silver Lining Celebration, making calendars for next year, and getting things ready for the upcoming balloon launch.
